Description Harvest Active Seat System is a one-piece alternating cushion that provides maximum patient comfort whilst achieving optimum pressure relief whilst seated. Especially beneficial to patients who can no longer sleep in a hospital type bed. The Active Seat System cushion has 6 alternating cells. The inexpensive system provides pressure relief in the key areas, for patients who don’t wish to spend 24 hours a day in bed. Alternating air cells distribute patient weight throughout various cycles. This assists in treatment for existing problem areas. Complete with the cushion is a two-way stretch, vapour permeable cover. Please note that this cushion can be purchased alone or with the compatible pump as a system. This system is recommended for use by a patient who would normally sit out of bed through the day but who is still at risk from pressure sores. The seat cushion uses the established principles of alternating therapy, this offers the patient comfortable and relaxing support that can both prevent tissue breakdown and help with healing. The pump unit is both lightweight and compact; its features include a clearly visible low-pressure warning indicator and a manual pressure / comfort control function. The seat cushion is made up of alternating cells and is split up into 2 sections consisting of odd cells e.g. 1,3,5 etc. and even cells e.g. 2,4,6 etc. These two sections will alternate through a 10 minute cycle in which time both sets of alternating air cells will have inflated and deflated sequentially. All air cells are individually replaceable should any damage occur to them. Quick release couplings between the pump unit and the seat enable easy patient transfer arrangements. To deflate the system simply disconnect the couplings from the pump unit. The cover is made of a multi-stretch, vapour permeable, waterproof PU fabric.
