Description The Repose Madison Express Chair has a Dual Tilt in Space mechanism. This maximises the pressure and posture management options for the carer/individual. It features independent backrest and leg rest movement and has a rise function for ease of standing. Delivery and setup is within 10-14 days throughout mainland Britain. There are six removable and interchangeable back cushion styles to choose from as well as five removable and interchangeable seat cushions. The seat cushion that comes as standard is the Viscoform option. Upgrade to one of the other 4 seat cushions during the checkout process. Each option has different postural and pressure management qualities. These interchangeable options ensure that the chair is adaptable over time for changing conditions or new users, giving greater longevity of usage. In the chart below, weight capacities are in stone, dimensions are in inches. The “Lift Capacity” is the weight limit for lifting the entire person whereas the “Leg Lift Capacity” is the weight limit of the leg rest. See the Madison too. Mechanism The most important aspect of a healthcare chair is the seating positions required to aid the conditions of the client and address any pressure and postural management needs. The Repose Madison Express Chair is available with a Dual Tilt in Space mechanism. Dual Tilt in Space Mechanism The Tilt in Space movement means the seat to back angle remain the same whilst the whole seating system is tilted backwards. The angle of the hips, knees and ankles remain unaffected. The weight on the Ischial Tuberosities is reduced by redistributing the weight through the back. This constant angle also prevents shear and friction during movement. This feature helps when transferring someone in a sling as it supports better pelvic positioning by using gravity to position the individual in the back of the chair in the optimal position. It also has a rise function. As the chair rises, the seat tilts forward, transferring the weight to the knees whilst taking the pressure from the hips, allowing you to walk away from the chair.
