Description The Repose Harlem Porter Express Chair is an extremely robust and comfortable chair. It meets the needs of those with ataxic movements such as Huntington’s Disease. It is equally adept to meet the needs of clients with life limiting conditions, including MND and MS. Due to its enhanced levels of comfort, it could also be used for clients with aching joints, where any movement is painful e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ehlers-Danios syndromes or osteoporosis. The independent back rest also means that it can meet the needs of semi-ambulant and non-ambulant users, addressing posture and positioning requirements by using the extensive range of additional accessories and features to modify the chair to meet the individual needs of the client. For those with skin integrity problems or a history of pressure sores, the Harlem is easily repositioned to allow for optimal pressure relief whilst not impacting on occupational performance. A highly engineered and robust porter chair, it comes with the following key features as standard: Repose Harlem Porter Express Chair – Key Standard Features Mechanisms The manual mechanism allows for an independent backrest recline. It is operated by the lever on the push handle. The back reclines into a range of positions to meet individual postural needs. The position locks when the lever is released. It allows for an angle range of 95º to 120º. Pressure Management Back Cushions There is a choice of six interchangeable and adjustable pressure management back cushions. Adapt this chair to a person’s changing needs or to another person with ease. All cushions can be repositioned to suit a person’s individual seating preferences. Fibres are added or removed from fibre filled cushions to adjust firmness. Covers are removable for cleaning or replacement. Pressure Management Seat Cushions There is a choice of four interchangeable seat cushions each with different pressure management features. The Viscoforn seat cushion comes as standard. Select this one in the “Choose your Seat Cushion”tab or upgrade to any of the other options. Cushions and covers are removable for cleaning or replacement. With all these seat cushions we recommend a fabric with four way stretch properties to aid reduction of shear and friction. Seat Angle Adjustment With an angle range of 15 degrees, the tilting seat can help to reduce the risk of an individual falling from the chair due to severe involuntary movements as well as allowing for different levels of comfort and postural control. Seat angle range 0º – 15º Seat Depth Adjustment The seat depth of the Repose Harlem Porter Express Chair is adjustable. The Seat depth range is 432mm – 533mm (17-21″”) In addition, there is the option to purchase seat adjuster pads which will increase the range of adjustment. When hidden away, it allows uninterrupted access with a hoist. The footplate has a central castor to maximise stability. The cover is removable for cleaning or replacement.
