How to use and care for magnet car signs: Applying flexible magnetic sheeting to a painted metallic surface without following all instructions for the use and care may result in damage to that surface. By following these instructions, a product user can ensure top performance. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the magnetic material and/or surface to which applied and/or failure of the magnet to maintain its hold. For outdoor applications, such as magnet car sign, the metal surface to which the magnet is applies should be cleaned. Clean the metallic surface/surface of the vehicle with mild detergent. Wipe with a soft cloth and allow surface to dry before applying. Before putting on a flexible magnet car sign to to a metal surface, be sure all surface paints, clear coats and waxes are properly cured according to specifications of respective manufacturers. It is recommended that flexible magnetic sheeting not to be applied onto newly waxed area for minimum of 48 hours. For newly painted vehicles, allow minimum of 90 days before applying. To achieve best result, apply he magnet sign when the temperature of the magnet is near room temperature or about 16°C(60°F). The magnet sign becomes stiffer at colder temperatures, and so it might not take hold properly. When applying to the vehicle’s surface, make sure the entire magnet is flat against the metal surface and the magnet must be flat with no curls. Do not allow any “air pockets” to form under the magnetic sheeting. If the magnet requires re-positioning. remove the magnet from the surface entirely and reaffix. Lift at sides and not at corners and do not pull or drag the magnet to realign. This may damage and stretch the magnetic sheeting. Remove magnet car sign periodically to prevent any dirt and moisture buildup between the magnet and the metal surface. On vehicle application, we recommend you do it every time you wash the car. Dirt and moisture trapped between the magnet and your vehicle’s surface could potentially damage its painted finish, and break the contact and loosen the hold. Clean both flexible magnetic sheeting and metal surface with mild detergent, wipe with a soft cloth and allow to dry.
