Description Using The Bosun’s Chair When using a bosun’s chair, it’s important to also make use of a fall arrest system, including a safety harness as well as a fall arrest block. This ensures the safety of the user in the rare instance that the hoisting line for the bosun’s chair fails.  Once aloft and situated at the working point, the chair should be secured in place with the use of a screw shackle or pole strap to restrict the movement of the chair, allowing the user to work freely and securely. The user should keep all tools in a toolbag that’s either attached to to the chair or the body to reduce the risk of tipping. Tools should also be secured to a safety line, which prevents damage or injury to personnel below if a tool is dropped.  Bosun’s Chair Features: Manufactured from galvanised steel frame Fibreglass seat Capacity: 136 kg Hawk Lifting is a leading supplier of lifting and handling equipment. duties directly. The courier delivering your order, or customs from your country, will txt or e-mail you with instructions of how to make the payments. Its quick and simple.
In most cases the VAT will be roughly equivalent to the UK VAT that we automatically deduct from your order. UK VAT is 20% and most EU countries are between 20% and 23%. If you are unsure of the VAT rate in your country, please check on your government tax website.
For more information on the VAT & import duty you may be liable to pay please contact us on [email protected]
Import duties are slightly more complicated and, based on the EU / UK trade deal, are based on the country of origin of the goods you purchase. For good manufactured in the UK or EU you will pay no import duty. For goods made outside the EU / UK you may pay an additional 2.7% import duty.

Advanced Payment Handling Charge (Surfboard Orders)

We are aware that some countries within the EU are charging an advanced payment handling charge on larger freight orders i.e., Surfboards. This is due to the courier having to pay the VAT and customs duties in advance. These are paid before they are collected from the recipient.  This isn’t much but you may have to pay.
